First quail hatch ever... I suck... need help please...

OK, let me re-phrase. What I stated works great for me. I have two 105 cfm fans going until lockdown. I cut one of them off at lockdown to cut down on the airflow across the eggs/chicks. But even with 80%+ humidity at lockdown, they are relatively dry and fuzzy within 8-10 hours. My scenario is with a cabinet bator. Multiple incubator designs results in various performances. I'm having good results with super-wet air at hatch time in mine. With all this said, I still have a "dry-out" hatcher every now and again.

Yes, I use a Hovabator, I have a 1583 for hatching and a 1588 for incubating. Both have fans. I usually keep my humidity for hatching around 70-80% but with that hatch it just went nuts. Too many wet bodies increasing the humidity....almost makes me wish I still had my LG still air...almost

I hate to open seems like the hatch is over after you open the first time. If you do open spray the remaining eggs with water to up the humidity. I've been letting them all hatch before opening & my hatch rates have really increased. I got 61 out of 70 last hatch. Time before that I got 30 out of 36.

Seems like that's the case here too. As soon as I opened it, it was like the hatch was over. I cleaned out everything today, got 3 more laties out of their shells, (we'll see if they actually make it though) and I'll set another batch tomorrow. Looks like I need to invest in a STILL AIR HOVABATOR COOLERBATOR.

NOPE! not this one. Get a still-air Hovabator for hatching out. The ones with fans are great for incubating, too drying for hatching. If you were able to turn off the fan, it would be worth it. I don't know why GQF doesn't make them so you can turn the fan off?

Do you know if the fan circuit comes through a circuit board? What voltage is the fan?
