My local tractor supply has week old chicks so not great odds of mother accepting... I did find someone with day old willing to sell a few. Any chances these might still hatch?I do not know where you're at, but Tractor Supply often has new chicks.
I really cant see any light in the last blue oneIt's hard to be sure when that blue one is so opaque, but I don't think so. The other definitely not. Can you see the air cell on the blue one? It would be drawing down by now if it was going to hatch, it should be large.
I'd get those day-olds.
Yes, I have found someone with day/2 day old chicks I just didnt want to have her abandon these if they were going to hatch. There are typically lots of chicks locally. You might post to a FB group you are looking for chicks for a broody. Mine only hatched 4 of 12 eggs and Happily adopted 6- 3 days old ameraucana chicks from a local breeder.
I tried from the side and didnt see any difference, light didnt seem to pass through the egg no matter whatwith your pictures it is difficult to know what's reflected light and what is light passing through the egg. The browns are DIS and the blue I am not sure. Candling eggs from the side gives a better image and will show the air cell better; less reflected light.
