Just for future reference if one is ever hatched with unabsorbed yolk, do not cut it off. Doing so will almost certainly cause fatal bleeding. They usually end up absorbing the rest before they start puttering around. If yolk ever dries to soemthing take warm water and dribble it over the dried part to remoisten it, which will allow it to come free without damage. Like if you are bleeding and put a gauze over the wound and the guaze dries and is stuck...you get it wet before peeling it off....

Hope your chickie is doing ok

pics are awesome hint hint...we need pics....

oh good..... there is another not doing well at all.... blue polish chick... but thank goodness I just left her in the incubator... her belly was all ready bleeding ..... she is just laying there quietly chirping but it has almost dried up... it is still attached to a pc of the egg..

Thanks a bunch... the muran is doing great.. running around the brooder with another one from a different set of eggies..... I was not sure any would hatch.... before I purchased the digital thermostats from incub. w house the incubator.. hovabator and lg kept spiking high temps...

what a difference the other thermostat made...... huge difference... although the LG coil still sits to close to the eggs when turner is in... do not think I will use that one again.

and update... as I wrote that .... I looked in on her and the yolk was no longer there and she no longer attached... and she was trying to stand up.... so moved her to the brooder....

coolness.... thanks a bunch for the advice... my 10 yr old and I are having a fun time hatching are first chicks.... (ebay chickies....) 21 days actually begins at 2 am... these are early birdies...
