First time hatchers hatch A-long!

Me too! All roos become meat birds so it all works out in the end, each chick gets a purpose and we get the joy of the hatching/rearing process. I think I'm addicted lol

I'm totally addicted! Hahaha! Once these guys start laying, I'm totally gonna do some hatching for profit. Really not for profit, but to sell at least. I love incubating so much!

Ditto! Lol already been looking into the NPIP process so I can sell chicks, eggs etc. I'm so ready to constantly have chicks around

Tomorrow is lockdown day! I am so stinking excited. I'll candle one more time in the morning before lockdown commences and then try to be patient lol I can't believe in a few days we will have little fluffy babies!

So exciting! Today is day 9 for my Cochin bantam babies, and day 2 for the EE.

Me too! I'm curious how many will hatch, even with broody hens in the past I'd only get 4 or 5 chicks out of a couple dozen and some of my eggs are spotted (porous) so we'll see if that affects anything. This entire batch was to experiment and see what happens so it's getting closer to finding out!

Day 18! Just did my final candling... Looks like 18 look great and 4 I am not sure about. I'm leaving them in but I put a tiny ? mark on each one so if they don't hatch then I know I was right lol but here are some pics! I'll add in one of the ones I'm unsure about. (Second pic) But on the other 18 their air cell looks fantastic, so now I have to really be patient lol

Day 12 here. I’m going to start my second round of candling when I get home from church. Today will be the day I start tossing any clears or blood rings. I’m nervous to find out if any didn’t make it. I few looked like they had possible blood rings Tuesday.

I was tempted to toss those 4 but I just don't feel like I know enough yet to do that so let's hope they don't explode lol

So exciting! The first pic looks like he'll be hating soon! The second pic and any others that look like that are likely quitters.
4 out of 22 though that quit, that is really good! I can't wait to see who hatches!
