First time incubating: how do they look so far?

I picked up eggs yesterday for hatching. The lady was super nice and she gave me several extras because she wasn't able to fill my OE request. (2 short)

I'm going to set the large fowl eggs tonight (Providing the LG bator is holding steady) and then I'll set my Cochin Bantams on Saturday... giving the LF's a one day headstart on the little speedy bantam chicks.

The 38 eggs that are on day 13 are all still looking good. (despite the nasty spill they took when the turner tipped straight up and down and I came home to find them all laying on the wire) I'm very excited about this batch. I am going to keep a lot of them to see what colors they're going to be. I gave the 5 that just hatched to my sister. I bought 18 from a BYC member here that has really nice cochins of every color. Hoping to get some calicos... then filled the rest of the bator up with my eggs.

I'm thinking that as soon as the 38 hatch out of the Hova Bator, I'm going to pull the LF's from the LG and finish them up in the Hova.. I don't need to babysit it nearly as much as the LG.

5 days away from lockdown! :)

Its an hr journey for me to get any breed of hatching eggs. Once we buy my mother in laws house I will have 4 acres to have multiple breeds and I can be a supplier of hatching eggs and baby chicks.

First one is out, 2 working pips... oh the anticipation.

This first one is a little sticky. It was one of the smallest eggs and had lost the least amount of weight, so I'm not surprised its a little sticky, but I am surprised it hatched first!

Got 26 more eggs today, got them warming and I will leave a light on them until others hatch then in the bator they will go.

Oh my! I think I'm gonna give it a rest for a while. This one was stressful! Lol

I think I'm done with 9 beautiful babies (8 lavender, 1 black) happy to have gotten a black one. The one did die during zip. I'll do another thread with eggtopsy pics. 4 are still in the bater but I think they are gone. Candled and I thought I saw movement in one, so I'm giving them another night. But I'm extremely pleased with my outcome. Now I'm ready for a good nights sleep for a change!

Hope all is well with your hatch!!
