So you are going to wait for them all to hatch then move them?
A hatch can last a couple days and I like to get the dry and rowdy ones out of there.

No , not gonna wait on them , unless they all hatch today which most likely won't happen . What ever hatches today will go out to her house later this afternoon/early evening . I have a few of the heat packs so I can use the transport box over again for another trip or two over the weekend . If any are rowdy they'll go in the temporary box with the heat pack until the trip .

It'll be like popcorn popping in there today!!
The brooder's ready, right?

:gig I knew you couldn't do just one ;)
It’s because they grow so darn fast!! I feel like I didn’t get enough time for cute fluff ball snuggles. If they’d given me another week to get my fill, I might have been more satisfied

Took 5 of the little fuzzballs( four EE's and one BO) out to my daughters and they are in the brooder . This was their traveling accommodations , a Merrell shoe box .

Here's their new digs for the next few weeks

After a few minutes the brave ones come out from under the heat to check things out

No issues moving them ,had the heat pack in the travel box under the nest material , don't really think we needed the heat pack but it was cheap insurance . We just got back home and the last two EE's hatched and one more Orpinton is zipping now .

Edit ; Orpinton is out

I remember you said you’d keep a couple to add to your flock. Are you keeping them now or taking some back after they’ve grown some?

My daughter will have them all for now until we know what we have as far as pullets/ cockerels , then depending on numbers . If needed I'd do another hatch .

I took the 2 EE's and 1 BO that hatched yesterday afternoon out of the incubator this morn and put them in the travel box with another heat pack , they were running around and rolling and pecking at the one BO egg that was zipping . A little while later that zipping BO finally pushed out of the shell all the way , that one was working at it since late last night , its exhausted . Once this last one in the incubator dries off a bit I'll take these 4 out to my daughters . There are 2 BO eggs still in the incubator , but I see no pips , no rocking . I think they might be goners but I'll wait a bit more on them . So as of now we got 6 EE's and 3 Bo's .
