We added to our little flock this year with 13 chicks. 🐣🐥🐤:love All are 5 weeks and so far, I am fairly confident that 12 out of the 13 are pullets. The exception is one of my two Aquila's. "Midnight," pictured below, already has a pink comb, while his sister's is grey and smaller, has thicker legs and is considerably larger then all of the others. However, Midnight is also the calmest of the flock and gets picked on by my three Buff Orpingtons. I do not know anything about the Aquila breed and there is not much about them on the internet. So, am I right in thinking this one may be a Roo? Thanks!! (The first picture is of my two Aquila's. The pullet is standing on the perch and "Midnight," the suspected Roo, is behind her on the floor)

At 5 weeks, I think Midnight is a cockerel. The comb is pretty big for that age, though not too colorful yet.

This is the first I've heard of Aquilas. They are clearly a hatchery hybrid, but I couldn't find what breeds they used for the cross to make them.

Hi I am interested in getting this breed, I was actually hoping to get hatching eggs. The hatchery I had planned to purchase some no longer has them. Can you tell me where you were able to get yours? Thanks

I got them from a local ranch store in the beginning of March. I was not specifically looking for them, it just kind of happened.
