First week in June?

My Sizzle is sitting on 2 eggs that are due June 2nd. I don't know if they will make it to the end since mommy is "not bright". When she goes out to drink or eat she comes back and sits in the wrong box leaving her eggs cold for too long. I have to move her back on to her nest! I don't know what will happen.

a sizzle is a frizzle chicken mixed to a silkie. They look either so darn cute or hilarious!

Cause the silkies are already poofy. then when you add the frizzle...

Well...how are everyone's eggs doing?

Candled again last night. Looks like I have 30 out of 36 looking good, although some look further along than others. At first I thought they were quiters, but I can see movement inside.

My LG still air is holding temp great and I'm using the dry method and the humidity stays between 40-45%

I am having a heck of a time controlling my humidity. In the room (which is a bedroom in my house- temp is about 70- 72) the humidity is around 50-53. I have a Genesis 1588, trying to do the dry incubator/ hatch method, but it only has the one red plug/ hole. I put water in because if not the humidity is about 25- when I put water in the first several days it is around 50, then drops to 40 for a couple days then runs out of water and drops to 25 again. Which means I have to keep opening up the incubator. Tomorrow is day 14, I will candle for the last time.

Of the original 15 shipped BLRW eggs that went into the incubatoron 5/13 ~ 8 are still going strong. Some of the air cells are odd shaped from being broken during shipping which decreases the chances of them hatching. I had this problem last hatch with shipped eggs, some getting too large of an air cell and drying out with the dry incubation method.

So, this time I'm keeping my humidity at a steady 40% and just increased it to 45% and plan to raise it a little in the next three days getting ready to put my eggs in lockdown on Sunday!!

I am using a Genesis 1588 also and having the opposite problem

I use plastic tubing (from fish tank pump) attached to a turkey baster taped to a thin wood skewer to hold it rigid, and put it through the red plug hole and hold the tip over the center well to ad water so I don't have to open my incubator. For lockdown I run the same kind of plastic tubing (without the skewer) through the hole at the back corner for the auto egg turner cord and stick the end into the wire on floor so I can add water to the outer water well to increase the humidity while the chicks are hatching. GOOD LUCK with your hatch!

My two momma's are still sitting on their 4 eggs each - day 13. I haven't gotten a better flashlight yet, so last night I could see the air sack on the end and dark blob in the middle in all except the two EE's that I can only see the air sack.

One of the silkie eggs got a peck and crack in it, probably from one of the other hens hoppng in to lay an egg or the momma got a little aggressive with it when she got done taking a break and peck it when she went to roll it back under her. The air sack looked larger but I saw movement in the egg last night, so we'll see about that one.
