Fish/blood meal fertilizer safe as chicken food?

Hi everyone, I am new to BYC and just curious about mixing my own feed (just research at this point). I see a lot of meals available online (e.g. fish meal, bone meal, and blood meal). The listed purposes are for fertilizer. Does anyone know if these are ok to feed to chickens?

I would most definitely NOT feed anything to livestock unless the packaging indicated it was safe to do so. Most fertilizers are formulated differently from feed...they would be toxic to use as feed unless produced for this purpose.

I think your best bet would be to visit a grain mill & find out what they have available for mixing your own. That's a good place to start, anyway.
