Yeah the centerpiece fish I’m 95% sure I’m gonna do a bettaNice! Lots of maintenance, but worth it!
I emptied out my two 30-gallons and combined them (plants, snails, and the few fish left) into a new 50-gallon. I've been doing it as a filterless tank and so far things seem to be going well! I would like to some short grass-like plants to put in there but the cory cat has a habit of digging things up so I'll have to choose planting locations carefully. Other than her, there's the two nerite snails, a bunch of orange neocardinia shrimp who are very good at hiding, two clown plecos, one tiger barb, and one diamond tetra. When the barb and tetra are gone, I'll put in more shrimp, the grass, and guppies.
Haven't had the time or funds to do anything with bettas in the past couple years. I did buy one ugly little female betta at Petsmart because I felt bad for her. She was so ugly. Nobody else would have bought her. She promptly died like a month later.
