What type of Neocaridina shrimp should I get? Red cherries,blue dreams,yellow neons,black rose,or amano?

Depends. Nothing cleans like an amano (which is a caradina shrimp, by the way). Nothing is as beautiful as a blue dream. Nothing as classic as a red cherry

Amanos are the most tolerant of the caradinas, usually. Worth giving them a try, if you don't care about breeding them

I think I will start with Neocaridina since those are easier to find near me

I have bred some endler guppy crosses that are maturing beautifully. Its impossible to get a good picture of them.

Poor Shinta has fin rot

I did a deep clean on his tank yesterday, now I'm going to be doing 15% water changes and treating with kanaplex for the next week.

This might be dumb but it doesnt look like fin rot to me. It looks like he has cut his tail on plastic or other hard tank decor.

I agree, that was my first thought too, but he doesn't really have any hard tank decor. It's just gravel substrate and live plants. Some of the plants are in terracotta pots but none of them have sharp edges. There's plastic uplift tubes for the undergravel filter and a topfin IF20 internal filter but they don't have any sharp edges either.

Also it started as a small hole in the middle of his caudal fin.

I hadn't noticed it yet, but you can see the beginning of it in this Pic taken July 27.

When I first noticed it looked like the small hole you can see here in his dorsal fin but it's just getting worse. His poor tail is shredded and I'm worried the rest of his fins will follow suit.
