I have bred some endler guppy crosses that are maturing beautifully. Its impossible to get a good picture of them.

This might be dumb but it doesnt look like fin rot to me. It looks like he has cut his tail on plastic or other hard tank decor.
I agree, that was my first thought too, but he doesn't really have any hard tank decor. It's just gravel substrate and live plants. Some of the plants are in terracotta pots but none of them have sharp edges. There's plastic uplift tubes for the undergravel filter and a topfin IF20 internal filter but they don't have any sharp edges either.

Also it started as a small hole in the middle of his caudal fin.

I hadn't noticed it yet, but you can see the beginning of it in this Pic taken July 27.

When I first noticed it looked like the small hole you can see here in his dorsal fin but it's just getting worse. His poor tail is shredded and I'm worried the rest of his fins will follow suit.
