I have 6 tanks going now. :barnie

I have 3 and already thinking of more :lau I probably won’t though because I’m starting to dislike the work involved but I have an empty, brand new 10 gallon plus when I move the goldfish out I will have an empty 20 long AND my mom just found another 20 in the garage (bought it a while ago when I wanted gerbils, moved on from that idea and lost the tank) :lau :th thinking I may need to just SELL the tanks and extra supplies so I’m not tempted :lau

I think some of the fancy varieties can be prone to fin rot in lower temperatures.

Most fish react to the water temperature. Perhaps slowly lowering your temperatures a bit may slow their reproduction? Just a theory. I know the warmer the tank the higher the metabolism on fish generally.

This, this is my main method of population control. By not heating any of my tanks I slow growth, reproductions, and it also slows the aging process. I have guppies that are easily 3 years old.

It's good to hear it works. It's probably why many cold water species live much longer than tropical fish.
