I wouldn't. Bettas don't like long in my experiences. Some people have better luck with them, but I don't. You could also add some little tetra fish, or a couple of female betta.

Okay thank you!! That’s good to know! I might still change the water before I add anything just because I’m paranoid but I’ll leave everything else

Not sure what I want to get next, if anything, but I figure, the tank is all set up... and I wanted to get guppies or another betta or something anyway. So now I don’t have to set up another tank.

Plus the plants I got are wayyyyyy too many plants for one tank anyway so I kind of have to have a second tank anyway. Unless I wanted to just do a plant tank but that’d be kinda weird haha

You could do a smaller water change if you want before adding anything.

Aw no maybe try adding a lighter background or substrate? Or a tank light or plants or something?

It must be the background. Its black. The fish is a dark blue body w/ lighter blue fins. double moon tail I think. The other is blue and red.

Your tank where your fish died, If by chance it did have anything (slim chance) I think waiting a couple days would kill anything in the tank.

I’m sure that’s it then! Can you possibly get a lighter background? They sound really pretty though.

Sometimes I lose Draco in mine because he is dark too and my substrate is black. I’m hoping once I add the plants and lights though, he will show up better lol

Thanks! That’s a good idea! I wouldn’t add anything right away anyway, trying to stay home and think I might try decorating first this time, but might add something eventually. Might just keep it running just in case to keep all the bacteria and everything alive until I decide for sure.
