I only have a three gallon. Thank you for the advice about the bacteria!
I had him for 3 years before he went. How long did your fish live? I’ve only had him for five months - got him at the pet store on this last Mardi Gras.
They sound awesome!!! And I like goldfish for the same reason hahahWe had cichlids for awhile. They did hatch babies a time or two but they were quick to eat them. I like the goldfish because they're easy, though dirty. And I love dojo loaches, they are so full of personality and smart. And Mac, the one that just died, loved to play. One of his favorite things was when he would get new aquarium decorations in the tank that he could explore. I was so sorry I never got a chance to get him a loach friend. He was a natural colored loach. The one we had before him was a golden Dojo loach, Mr. Nibbles. He lived for six or seven years.
My grandparents have saltwater fish ive always wanted them!Anyone else here keep saltwater?

This is my royal gramma in front of a few soft corals. Sorry for the poor quality iPhone photography, but it's super hard to take good pictures of saltwater fish because of the blue lighting.
I tested 2 times weekly. Filled up the glass bottles then added the drops made sure not to mess up waited 5 minutes. Then did what i needed to depending on yhr test. It's important to do weekly testing. If you're changing out all the water weekly, that means that nitrifying bacteria won't have time to develop, resulting in high ammonia. That could be your problem. Putting him in a bigger tank will certainly help with stress, and it'll also keep water parameters more stable. I recommend a 10 gallon, but a 5 gallon should also work just fine.
Hopefully it worked!!Charles Carroll in his new home…
He’s doing a bit better, swimming around more and flaring his beautiful tail. I put bottled water in (distilled) and a filter. I also stopped at both PetSmart and Petco but neither store had fishtanks on sale. I will do water testing tomorrow. Thanks y’all for the advice! It hopefully saved my fish!
I just have away 5 goldfish that are hatched last year that were all 4-6" long. I doubt that they were the only ones in there but maybe I got lucky and the big koi ate those other fry I think I saw. I've been trying to get rid of goldfish for 3-4 years now.Not in a tank. Goldfish get very big and messy. I have one out in the pond with the 7 koi. I don't want anymore out there because they will just keep breeding and make hundreds of babies.
