Can you send fullbody photos of the shrimp? Females have a different tail shape than males. Males have a straight line that doesn’t have much curve and females have a larger and more curvy looking tail. That’s honestly the best way I can explain that. I’ll try to grab some photos of my old shrimp to show a female’s under tail curve.Wow. Since you're a little bit of a neo expert, I have a few questions. Got 5 yellow cherry shrimp in the aquarium, got them with the chillis. I'm 99% sure all are male. I'm holding out some hope because I don't know if they're juveniles, or adults. If they're adults, they're definitely male. But how do I figure out if they're adults or one maybe two molts away from adulthood?

Ah, I misread what you were asking. Even if they are sub adult I believe you would be able to tell their sex. I haven’t had shrimplets in years (or shrimp at all for that matter) so my brain may be a bit fuzzy on what my shrimp looked like when they were younger.Yes, mature females have a deep abdomen, while mature males have a slender abdomen. But from what I understand, that applies to adults/mature specimens. I don't know if mine are sub-adults or adults
With five more there's a good chance you'll get at least one female! That's promising to hear! I'll still probably get 5 more though![]()

Quarantine going well:

NO3 (Nitrates) tested about 20ppm. If it were a mature aquarium I wouldn't do a water change this evening, but I want to keep these little fiddies as healthy as possible. I did a 1g water change (20%).
