Floating plants get the best of both worlds. They're crazy close to the light, direct access to oxygen. Their roots suck up everything there is to "eat" in the water column. Stem plants are limited to their substrate
Floating plants work great! Our plants wouldnt ever stay in the ssnd or gravel.

All twenty of the Ember tetras made it through cross-country shipping, and a two week quarantine in a 5.5g aquarium.

They're active, and both my two Glowlight tetras and my lone Zebra danio are much more active. No aggression so far, I think all's good.
