Five-month old Australorp suddenly lame. Update: Now another pullet going lame!

I think rollers would roll even better on the sandy run than real wheels would.
yes definitely. 'Cycling in sand' is probably not what May needs! Rollers should be easy to source too, from pencils and branches in the garden if not proper carpentry offcuts. And more robust and stable than wheels.

Since B vitamins are water soluble, meaning excess is eliminated in the urates, I am giving her half a table of B-100 (complex) in the morning and the other half at night. I couldn't find straight B-6 at Walmart. I'm also giving her one vitamin E capsule each day. These both repair nerve connections.

Thanks so much! I’ve always felt like my chicken’s issue seemed like nerve damage! I think both those vitamins were in the poly-vi-sol I gave her, but maybe not in high enough concentrations (or maybe she wasn’t at the healing stage then?). Thanks for your help. ❤️

The Marek's test kit finally arrived. I fetched it in a snowstorm before I get snowed in again. But there's a big catch I wish I had know about beforehand. RNA blood samples degrade after 24 hours from collection. I will need to time the samples from May with getting to the post office asap and then spring for $30 overnight postage. This is making the $20 test multiply in cost. Be aware, any who read this that the test actually costs $18 for the test kit, $20 for the lab test and $30 for postage for a total of $68.

It's freezing cold today and May is spending it in the garage window. She had managed to escape her chair again. So much for the secure strap around her wings. I'll be needing to re-engineer her chair with sides that she can't collapse as she throws herself out of her restraints.

It's not just a fluke. May really is getting strength in her legs. I'm trying to rig a hammock to let her get some upright exercise but the underpants I tried just dump her out. (They don't work much better in my ass.)
