Well......today we ventured out to the garden and "Hector" (what we named him) was no where to be seen. We looked up and .....

He made it up to the house roof! Whether he'll come back again is uncertain (maybe he will to roost on the barbecue ) but right now it seems he has conquered his flying!!

You may have to zoom in, but he's right in front of the chimney, and has been there since early this morning. Well-done Hector!!

Hearing of Hector's first freedom flight is truly uplifting! Most likely he/she will remember your kindness and return, with a mate next year. Maybe you will prepare with a nice nest box somewhere with a rim to prevent falls... They are fond of nesting on ledges of various types... Make it a spot away from the kitty garden...
