Update on the babies - sad news first - we are down to 6 kits, which isn't uncommon for large litters like Velvet had, especially being a first-time mom. The 4 kits passed away rather quickly over the first 72 hours. Problem is with rabbits is there is no 100% safe replacement milk and the best you can do is try to mix up something that comes close, but not nutritionally sound. So many times, you will actually end up killing the kit from aspiration, overfeeding, or just the sheer mismatch of nutrients that are only found in rabbit milk. Sometimes, mother nature does know best, sadly.

The remaining kits appear healthy, growing, and doing well. There is a small/runty baby that is growing but a bit slower than the others.

They look more like rabbits than the original picture, and appear to be sandy/fawn like the parents.
