Flock/Life Journey's 2019

I think we will stay in the condo for a year and then get a house, I’ll work towards 2 acres but we will see.

Relationships can be so complicated. I was sorta in a triangle also. Hope it is working out for all parties involved. If they weren’t happy together it’s better than staying together in misery and worse getting a divorce when kids are involved..that’s what happened with my sister and I and my parents. But maybe things were meant to be in my case, I’m grateful for my little half sister.

If I wasn't around they were still have split up. I think I just showed him a woman that can be a woman but can also be fun and chill. I met her she was nice to my face but not behind my back. But me and her are totally different. I showed Jordan the woman he wanted when he seen me drinking, camping, fishing and just being super chill so that seeled it for him.
But we are happy and great together. And of course in love. We own a house together and are planning babies in our future so things happen.

My 13 remaining babies went outside today! They were outgrowing the kiddie pool fast and I wanted them to stretch their wings and build their immune systems. I checked on them 3 times over 5 hrs past sundown and they had no issues whith their 2 heatlamps and being outside in the cold. The coyotes don't seem to be out tonight so hopefully the bobcat and racoons stay away too, and I have 13 healthy babies come morning.
PS. Anyone feed their chicks on a schedule? I know a lot of people just make sure they always have feed but I've found giving them a regular 2-3 meals a day seems to get them on a better sleep/be active/nap ratio. And it makes them work for their food and give me positive reinforcement. I feed them 3 bowls a day one at 7 am, one at 2 and one at 7-8 depending on when I get off work. They also seem to sleep through the night except a bit of shuffling here and there, but nothing like the 24/7 I'd have in a house raised clutch whith bulk feed amounts. I also think it'll be good to adapt them early on since a few of my hens are gluttons, and our goats get into the feed if I leave it out. So I have to feed my birds 2 meals a day, no free eating for them unless they find it themselves lol. Any one else have a distinct feed schedule for chicks?
They're growing fast! :love

Shepherd's Pie for Dinner :love

:drool When DS was born my BIL and SIL brought over homemade shepherd's pie, it was the best I ever had! The mashed potato part was crunchy, unlike any of the frozen ones we've bought. Speaking of mashed potatoes I made it for the first time last night! Months ago DH asked me to make it and I was like I don't know how I'll look up a recipe but that didn't happen til yesterday, can't believe how easy it is to make mashed potatoes.

Just went check on them this morning at 6 am cause I stressed over chill or winds or predators all night only to go out their and find I hadn't missed a thing apparently, and was looked at like a weirdo for being up to check on them so early when 90 % of them were still asleep...then my adult flock got mad cause I refused to let them out of their coop and run before daylight hit. -_- oh well. Now I can be reassured that all babies are good to go and stay outside 24/7 at 3 weeks old even in late winter, for my last 40min of sleep before my day starts....

@bantamsrmyfav yum! Mashed potatoes are great :D Have you tried making filet steak(if you eat meat that is)? I found you can by a piece worth 10 filets (not counting shank and stew bits) at a wholesale store and theyre suuuper easy to make in around 10 minutes total between the stove top and oven, and need only salt and pepper to make it taste amazing!!!

No I haven't tried making filet steak, that sounds good, thanks! I guess I can say I'm a semi-vegetarian, I was full vegetarian for 7 years but now we sometimes buy meat. DH thought we should only eat it at get togethers and events but it's hard not to eat it when life gets stressful.. at least for now anyway. My teacher also passed info around the class that those with blood group O should have a diet o f 10% meat which DH and me both are O+. I do applaud vegetarians who can stick with their diet though, and respect others with omnivore diets as well. Currently my freezer is full of faux meats but also fish and swedish meatballs that we had with the mashed potatoes. I served it with the ligonberry sauce I got from Ikea but DH wasn't fond of the sauce, I love it though.
