Flock/Life Journey's 2019

My grandmother fell and broke her leg last night. She's waiting to go into surgery soon. She's doing good at the moment. I'm not particularly religious, but she is, so if any of you would like to pray for her she would appreciate it.

Some muscovies in the pond by the parking lot really brightened my day.

I’ll definitely pray for her. :hugs Beautiful ducks.

I'll pray too. I believe in the power of prayer.

Beautiful Muscovy's make me want to rescue.

And about the carnucles on the Muscovy only wild Muscovy's are in Texas and they are protected because they migrate and it's a very small area there. I would say all other Muscovy's are feral. That one is called Wild type though.

Wow what a mess around with the house but. A condo might be the away to go. Less work. Acreage is alot of work.

I was friends with my partner before we got together. He was actually in a relationship for about 3 and a half years when I met him. Nothing ever happened until we where together and I made him contact his ex and let her know that he was seeing me out of respect for her but she still sees some of his family now and then and keeps telling them we were having an affair but if he cheated on his ex. No way I would be with him. Once a cheater always a cheater. So that annoys me because I was being so respectful of her and wanted her to know from us rather then anyone else but ohhh well.

I think we will stay in the condo for a year and then get a house, I’ll work towards 2 acres but we will see.

Relationships can be so complicated. I was sorta in a triangle also. Hope it is working out for all parties involved. If they weren’t happy together it’s better than staying together in misery and worse getting a divorce when kids are involved..that’s what happened with my sister and I and my parents. But maybe things were meant to be in my case, I’m grateful for my little half sister.

I’ll be praying, I also believe in the power of prayer.

Lovely ladies, looks like a partridge cochin and 3 red pyle OEGBs :love

Oh good! :thumbsup

Haha when I met DH he was the drunk one, or at least he was getting there...we went to the Chinese restaurant a block from our school and he had 2 large pitchers of beer. He told me later it was so he could get confidence to talk to me.

That's cool about Robert.

It went as I expected, not so well. In fact, we didn't even get to see the house. When we got there the tenant said he told the owner that he was not ready to show the place. I guess the realtor got the message late or something. We decided not to go with it because we need a place that is vacant to live in and then decided we would go with a condo which I am happier with because it costs half as much as a house would meaning I'd be closer to getting an acreage one day.

That is so sweet :love

Oh no, is she or any of your flock new? Or maybe a predator?

Beautiful egg, are you going to hatch it, blow it, or eat it?

Well the week has just started and I just can't wait for it to be over. I can't wait for my trip to the US to be over, really. Travelling with a toddler does not sound fun but we will try to keep him from having tantrums.
No, no one is new.. and definitely no preds..
I am going to try to spend a good bit of time in there tomorrow and see if I see anything going down.. my Wyandotte and my Australorps can be bullies! But it has never been anything extreme.. from what I can tell:confused:

My 13 remaining babies went outside today! They were outgrowing the kiddie pool fast and I wanted them to stretch their wings and build their immune systems. I checked on them 3 times over 5 hrs past sundown and they had no issues whith their 2 heatlamps and being outside in the cold. The coyotes don't seem to be out tonight so hopefully the bobcat and racoons stay away too, and I have 13 healthy babies come morning.
PS. Anyone feed their chicks on a schedule? I know a lot of people just make sure they always have feed but I've found giving them a regular 2-3 meals a day seems to get them on a better sleep/be active/nap ratio. And it makes them work for their food and give me positive reinforcement. I feed them 3 bowls a day one at 7 am, one at 2 and one at 7-8 depending on when I get off work. They also seem to sleep through the night except a bit of shuffling here and there, but nothing like the 24/7 I'd have in a house raised clutch whith bulk feed amounts. I also think it'll be good to adapt them early on since a few of my hens are gluttons, and our goats get into the feed if I leave it out. So I have to feed my birds 2 meals a day, no free eating for them unless they find it themselves lol. Any one else have a distinct feed schedule for chicks?
