Flock/Life Journey's 2019

The fox is got!!! :celebrate
My local farm shop recommended a hunter to me so I rang him and it turns out the neighbors have already had him over and he got two foxes three weeks ago!
He’s coming over again sometime this weekend as the neighbors have seen another fox. Also got talking to the neighbors and their whole flock was taken. Seems like there’s a whole family of them.

Yayyyy!!! :celebrate:celebrate:celebrate
Fox bites the dust!!!
Thats sad your neighbors lost their whole flock omg! My heart goes out to them. :hugs
I hope the hunter gets the rest of them!

What day exactly is it? Day 1 is the day after the day you set. If it is after day 15 i would most def Stop turning them. Yes candling them is very tough do you have any pics maybe i can help u identify life. What about is the ambient humidity of the (i assume) home your incubating in? Thatll make a difference with the humidity concerns bumping it or "dry hatching" if u dont know the ambient u can look on a phones weather app and outside is a better starting place than none.

Hello my dear! :frow :hugs ! Going well i Just took a pic of my 23 Day old quail check em out!

Im dumbfounded at the growth rate of the good lines i havent ever had anything sprout like this of the Hundreds of birds ive hatched and raised. I dont have the math but i bet even my pekin ducks didnt match in growth rate per lb + feathers and those things grow at an alarming rate.

Hi! Thank you so much @mixedUPturk! I tried candling them today two have large air pocket at the large end. It looks like i set them on February 20th. We're in Texas but it has been a very wet/rainy winter this year. Humidity is ranging 50% to 80%. I also keep the house more humid for my reptile . I'll see if my hubs will take a photo of the candling , otherwise i need another set of hands .
I was freaking out a bit as their heat lamp burnt out so mad dash to get them to stay warm. The side of the chick brooder to the rescue!

So today is day 14. Im not sure about having the eggs set up under a light i use a very hands off incubator that controls nearly everything for me. If the humidity is that high in the house though i wouldnt worry with bumping it which is protocol for alot of people. Large air cells and really dark eggs are good signs if there are chicks then that would be an indication theyre growing large and blacking out the egg plus the air cell drawing down as hatch day approches. Maybe the air cells are too large tho if theres been no humidity regulation inside of an incubator? Sorry theres only a few facts here im just speculating about your setup. If youd like to PM me altho these are fine people i seldom have the chance to keep up w this thread ontop of the others that i follow. but i would be glad to offer any assistance that i can. Others on this thread have alot of knowledge too though. You see those fellas w the "educator" badge under their name? Those people earn that by proving they have extensive knowledge it is the highest honor bestowed to our community.

sorry about that Krystal, how i camt keep up :frowhello there dear! i still look forward to your posts when we meet up elsewhere and i hope your doing as well as that awesome coop fund! Good job! :highfive::bow
