Still at 4 but I can see 2 having a good go at breaking out, unfortunately they’ve pipped at the wrong end so it’s a bit harder for them. I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight

So these are all the pics I have of my chicks as of recent. They are 1 week and 1/2 hold when these were taken. They will be 2 weeks saturday the 19thThat would be amazing love. I love chicks!![]()
I am positive I at least have 4 boys. 2 of them being Black Copper Marans, 1 olive Egger boy, and I think the one dwarf with the weird feathering is a boy as well. Also can someone tell me why the second chick I posted(pics 3-4) is feathering like that? He has very long closed looking feathers and then it only shows the bottom part of the feathers. Also the very last pic doesn’t have 2 pics because she was being very energetic
We named her smushy
. One of our dogs clipped her beak when they were inside for the first couple of days we had them. So she is pretty special
The dog mostly got my hand so she was alright but the dog thought she was a toy and jumped up to grab her and it obviously didn’t work. I was holding the chick and also the dog is still pretty new to everything and she has never seen a chicken before so she doesn’t know what it is
. I do have an older dog, Lacey, and she is super protective over chicks and chickens
I am hoping when the new dog relaxes a little that she will be good with chickens as well.
I wish it was like that here! We have snow on the forecast for SundayWeather Update:

What breed are they? Such cutiesView attachment 1644573 Update! It’s 1140pm here. Just moved the most recent hatchees to the “hot box” as I call it.
Took the chance to check the last eggs, 3 are still kicking, pipped and just resting by the looks, may have assisted a little. Last one looks like it’s died, i can see it’s beak but there’s no response when I touch it. So we shall see how these last 3 do over night and I’ll update you in the morning!

Forget the house work, just enjoy your time offIm thinking should I go grocery shopping tomorrow and clean my house? Or go and buy chickens?
Do I wait and take my partner since they are our babies? Or do I just go and he will love them either way?
So many decisions?

Roll on summer! We've had snow today albeit very lightbut still very very cold and is now hail stones which sting when the hit meI wish it was like that here! We have snow on the forecast for Sunday.

We bought some black sexlinks in the fall to raise to 6 weeks for the pastors wife. They did fine but several of them had sticky butt--needed to be cleaned every day for several days.Im the same. I look at the photo and want chicks again. I had so many dramas when I bought day old chicks but. It was the worst!
