Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Morning/evening folks :frow

Mystic, a bachelor pad for now, until your girls get older is a good Idea. Integrations come in many forms, best if you can look but not touch for a while, but that's not always possible. I put my last batch in their shelter after letting everyone out and they stayed there until evening when it was time for everyone to come in. A couple girls left, but everyone else seemed to get along.

The ducklings feathers are really starting to come in now.

The yellow one is gonna look like lavender, the duck we lost to a fox just before Christmas.
Same colored feathers and gray bill.

She’s actually the mother of the mother duck that raised these two.

Hello and thanks for all the great pics and stories.

My name is Jason coming to you from Mid Michigan! I am not only new to my flock but home as well and very excited to get our new life journey going. It’s just the wife and I as our kids are grown We will be adding dogs, sheep and goats soon as well.

Our little flock consists of:

All about a month old

Chicks 6 - Lavern and Shirley (Americanas) and the other 4 TBD

Ducks 2 - Burt and Ernie

Turkeys 2 - Thankgivn & Xmas

Looking forward to seeing what works and don’t work for everyone and hope to be helpful as well. Also going to start my garden as so 2019 with some hard work should be fruitful in the near future. We are fortunate enough to have an existing coop so I’m doing a little upgrading and serious clean up. I’ll post pics as we go.

Thanks for looking and thanks for sharing yours!

So Question... i posted about integrating the ones I'm getting with my ones i have and I'm getting a nothing but negative feedback. The ones I'm getting are 9 months old, they've been in a flock together and the two roosters are the lowest on the pecking order there. Here i have 15 babies and then my 4 one month pullets. Am i in for doom like I've heard so far? Or do you think they could get along?
Integration is somewhat complicated but it works best if they are close in size. You will likely have to keep the babies separated for a while along with the one month olds.

The time will go by quickly! They should be about 16 weeks old when you put them together
