Someone brought it to my attention that it might be easier to just use flock raiser for my ducks, quail and chickens. My main concern is whether or not it has enough nutrients in it for all three types of birds? Also what about my layers? Would the flock raiser be good enough to support them? Flock raiser sounds cheaper overall than getting individual feed, but I want what would be best for them.

I think all flock might be better for you. For the layers, just give them some oyster shells for calcium.

Flock raiser w/ oyster shell on the side is fine for layers. I have no idea about quail. I have read mixed reviews about the niacin level for ducks. Hopefully some duck and quail keepers will chime in for you.

Thanks! The niacin is also what I was concerned about with the duck portion.

Quail need higher protein, you'll need some kind of supplement. Chicks need a minimum 28% higher is better, and adult birds need minimum 20% with supplement calcium for layers.

What protein do you suggest?
