Food Taboos?

I would love to have fugu!!! I am also a fan of bug eating as it is a healthy way to get your protien, not to mention the shock factor. I would try balut, but I dont know if I would enjoy it. If I am ever in France and have the chance to try horse meat, I would do it just for the cultural experience, and the same goes for dog in Vietnam or China. One kind of food that I am not into is bush meat. I dont think eating primates is a great idea in general...

Things that commonly carry zoonotic diseases. That leaves out quite a lot. And most highly-processed foods are right out, because the processing factories are dirty and have poor working conditions, at least all the ones I've ever seen.

Restaurants are only OK if I can physically see the food as it's prepared. Fortunately, there's lots of restaurants like that around here.

I do eat sushi, though. Fish don't carry too many human diseases, and the sushi chefs make everything right in front of you. I don't mind a few intestinal worms here and there, they are good for your immune system.

I actually looked up the human flesh part and it was called Hufu, and apparently it was a hoax. Thank god too as I was a bit scared it was real.

No puffer fish. I have kids and my chances are as good as playing russian roulette! Won't touch foi gras. YUCK! Turducken. WHAT? Not on your life! The combination sounds nausiating.

With that said, I LOVE sushi rolls! And the more salmon roe on top the better! I love it when those little shiny fish eggs pop in my mouth. It's a real party in there when mixed with wasabi. MMmmmmm!

I've been to Austraila where I ate Kangaroo, well tasted. Didn't have it in me to really eat it. But I had Buffalo, Ostrich (Philaldelphia) , and Gator.
I won't touch frogs legs though. Even though they are quite common here in the south. I spoke to a guy at the gas station one night, who had just come back from hunting them. And was nice enough to show me the frogs. IT was horrifying to say the least!

, and I used to cook it at least once a week or so when I was single, and I had some wicked cool recipes for it, but then I married an anti-spam dork, that forbade it even coming into the house. I divorced him, and now, because he needs me to help pay for the house and enable him to see his kids, I get to cook my SPAM once every few months, and he leaves the house until I am done,"Indulging the inner Redneck".

I stayed at a 5-star hotel in New Delhi and was surprised to find beef steaks on the menu... and the steak was pretty tasty (the vegetables were a different story
