My chickens arrived already named by their previous mom.
The two Rhode Island Reds are named after her neighbors, Helen and Betty. The other, a Polish Bantam, is named Yasmine (I don't know why). My friends found this name hard to remember and pronounce.
Then I had to use use blue wound spray on the banty's head (the big girls were picking on her), and it turned her white crest purple. It was quite a stylish look, and so I started calling her Jazzy.
In case anyone is concerned, I managed to separate Jazzy from the big girls until she could heal and grow her crest feathers back in. With religious application of Hot Pick spray and careful supervision, eventually I was able to re-integrate her into the flock.
