Found a banded pigeon! Connecticut!

Oh, now I feel terrible.... my friend asked about the pigeon and I said that we couldn't properly trace its band number, she said that she remembered the letters I.F. on it.... I looked it up and I think that if we had seen that we would have been able to track it.... in total, the band said, in some order:
851
IF
2020
Pigeon
I suppose there's nothing I can do about it now, but I still feel very guilty.

Don't! You did exactly the right thing by providing food and water. The IF, International Federation is for racing homers. He should find his way home.

Hypothetical question....if you had an aviary type thing going on, could pigeons be housed in that with, say, doves, or quail? What about bantam chickens? (i'm talking the really tiny ones, like seramas or sebrights) definitely don't really want pigeons now
definitely not planning my farm for 30 years in the future

Lol, hypothetically, let's ask @cavemanrich about the seramas and @backyard pigeons about the quail. I think they have experience.

Thanks! It's hypothetical because everything must be planned about 117 years before it happens, of course. My dream is to have a commercial farm, with chickens, ducks, quail, and now pigeons. There's other farm stuff going on on this hypothetical farm, but it's not really relevant lol

You did the right thing. Good job!

As far as quail, what breed? Coturnix and button quail are fine with them, assuming they have quarters the pigeons can't get to, so that they have their own feed. But other breeds I don't reccomend.

As far as the doves, I don't recommend it, unless you have a very large aviary. The male pigeons can bully the female doves to much. But in a very karge, natural aviary it could work.

I have one 4 year old coturnix quail, and 8 button quail who live with my pigeons. They all get along fine, since the Wallace their own quarters with a hole only they can fit thru.

Edit: I'm a minor as well, and I have big dreams for a hobby farm dedicated to raising poultry. I just keep learning, and some day I'll get me a plot of land. :)

Thank you for the advice! *scribbles down notes and edits farm layout in sketchbook* I'd like to have a commercial farm, with tons of birds as well as cows and horses, growing berries, some vegetables, and apples and peaches, and also boarding horses, giving riding lessons, hayrides in the fall.....so much I'd love to do! I'd also like to have another part time job that I can do remotely from my computer, so that my day looks like this:
-get up at the crack of dawn and do farm stuff
-breakfast, then farm stuff until noon
-work at my computer in the afternoon, and if something comes up, I"ll be there to fix the problem.
-after work, go back to farm stuff!
Some more questions that are more relevant:
How much space do quail and pigeons need?
Do they need flying space?
Do they lay eggs regularly like chickens and some ducks, or only when they're going to sit on them? (I'm still unsure about how that stuff works)
Thank you so much for the help!

Another question: Are carrier pigeons actually a thing?

I believe that carrier pigeons were a type of pigeon that is now extinct. That said, the modern racing pigeons were used in war to carry messages back and forth from the front lines.
Cool! I know that in a lot of old timey books I've read, they mention carrier pigeons with capsules on their legs, which seems really cool to me.
From my understanding, there are racing pigeons and fancy pigeons? What are the ones that people send to fly to somewhere? I'm a bit confused on that front.
