Found a banded pigeon! Connecticut!

Do you have to integrate pigeons (different pigeons or types) or pigeons and quail together the same way that you do with chickens? How does integration work?
I never had issues with adding new pigeons. Most issues will occur with introduction of males, that may somewhat quarrel with those already in loft.
I will let BP explain his ways, since he gets new ones quite often.

I'm not seeing the picture.

Pigeon: if no-one claims it, and since it is clearly not a wild bird, then I would assume your friend can keep it if they choose.

They will probably need to do some research on proper housing/feeding/care for pigeons, unless they already know those things.

Picture is just pigeon in a cat carrier with food and water. What is basic pigeon care? Friend's parents are definitely considering it.

Friend's parents have agreed to keep pigeon if it hangs around. How much space is needed? I know that they need a roost, what else?

They're going to want to build a loft - and get a few more pigeons, since he'll need company. The loft doesn't have to be huge, but the more space the better, as with any bird housing.

Scratch is not the best, nutritionally. He CAN eat it, but they'll want to get an actual pigeon seed mixture. They'd likely be able to find some in one of the local feed stores.

For right now, we have a mixture which is:
-1 part chicken food
-1 part scratch
- 3 parts birdseed (sunflower seeds, I think?) It has a towel over the bottom of the cat carrier. There is a flat roost up on two bricks. For permanent housing: Is there a number of square feet that's needed? Are the only needs a roost, shelter, and food and water? What should be used on the floor? I have sand and pine shavings.

*I live up the street from my friends, and might end up caring for the pigeon with my friend
