Found a chicken

Even if you don’t see any mites it wouldn’t hurt to treat her with some permethrin powder. You can get this in any farm and garden or even a local hardware store. Has to be repeated after one week. You also have to treat the area where she is sleeping as the mites will get into the wood.
Chickens normally respond well to good care so she should be looking pretty good in no time!😊

She has perked up since yesterday after her first dose of oil to her legs and they even look a little better today. Yes, I will keep her as she seems very sweet and I am becoming attached of course. She lets me apply the oil with no issues and even stretches her legs when I do it.
She does look a little banged up but think that might be from being on her own for days. I’ll pick up some powder to dust her and the coop as well just to be sure she is fully healthy before beginning to introduce her to the others. I just hope everyone gets along. I have silkie chickens in one coop and ducks in another. Not sure I can have a 3rd as my husband might begin to think I’m a little animal crazy:) (we have goats and cows as well) thank you all so much for the help! This is a great community for guidance!

Glad she's doing better. Definitely treat her for lice/mites and continue the treatment for the scaly leg mites. Her eye does look odd, so keep an eye on her. I'd probably dust or spray the coop she's in now for mites and make her comfy. With her looking that rough, to be safe I'd keep her isolated for at least a month before you introduce her to your silkies.

We found this chicken running around and decided it would be better to put it in our Currently empty coop until we decided who’s it was.
I’m new to chickens and I have only three silkies. Two are roosters so I didn’t want to add the found one to the pack as I am not sure if this is another rooster, hen or even what kind it is. So this chicken is alone in a closed coop at the moment.
If it’s a hen my friend will take her home. It hasn’t made a peep and hasn’t dropped an egg so I am just not sure.
here is a few pictures.
Poor thing! :( She is a Speckled Sussex. I would know, I have some. She looks stressed, I'd put some apple cider vinegar in her water. Just 3 Tbs. per gallon. I will calm her down.
