Found a chicken

We found this chicken running around and decided it would be better to put it in our Currently empty coop until we decided who’s it was.
I’m new to chickens and I have only three silkies. Two are roosters so I didn’t want to add the found one to the pack as I am not sure if this is another rooster, hen or even what kind it is. So this chicken is alone in a closed coop at the moment.
If it’s a hen my friend will take her home. It hasn’t made a peep and hasn’t dropped an egg so I am just not sure.

That's a speckled sussex. I'm not sure of gender as it is missing it's saddle feathers.

That is a female Speckled Sussex. She looks as if she would be fine with your flock.
Mine is a sweetheart.

Poor thing! She is a speckled sussex hen. Do not introduce her to other chickens yet, it looks like she has scaly leg mites. Not sure whats wrong with her eye, but she may be sick too. She needs to stay in quarantine until you are sure she is healthy and parasite free.

Might want to oil their legs (cooking oil), they appear dry and could possibly have scaly mites. Costs next to nothing to do, and could offer the bird LOADS of relief.

Yeah, olive oil will work fine, I use sunflower oil (cheaper and easier for me to get).
