Found Young Duck. HELP PLEASE

Thanks I wouldn't know. All I have are fat fat ducks that are lucky to get 6 inches off the ground.

They are small ducks, only weighing around 1.5 pounds. Where in the world do you live that homeless people are eating these ducks?

There are ALOT of ducks.
As heard by a homeless person.
Appearently back in the 80s Mrs. Albertsons looked out her window and didnt appreciate the view, low income housing. So she funded a "city beautification" project. It took out the unsightly low income housing and replaced it with a park system. At that point she implanted a bunch of ducks for the park system. What really topped it off was when the man finished his story he added "At least she gave us the ducks" as he literally reaches over, grabs a duck and flips it killing it instantly. That really messed with me. In retrospect though people have to eat.. At least they have that. It isn't comman knowledge. I just know from this experience.

I don't want to mess with him now that I know he's suppose to be wild. I'll find a rehabber and figure out out from there. I did not notice any wing clips though.. I know quite a bit about chickens. Next to nothing about ducks though.

Since he is a wood duck I’d think a rehabber would take him. Hope you can find one in the mean time offer the feed you have and fresh water. And please c let us know what happens.

Where in the world do you live that homeless people are eating these ducks?

This wouldn't sound so surprising if you had ever been hungry or had hungry children for a prolonged period of time. Best meal I ever had was duck eggs (not wild, just enough for the kids).

Good news. I found a wildlife rehabber that already has a flock of wood ducks!! They'll take him as soon as I can get him there.

No problem. It's in my nature to help. I just want to cuss out the dude that took those ducklings. I bet money this guy is one of them.. He's fine. I bet money he's just been cooped up in a tiny hen house run and hasn't had a chance to really use those wings..
