Found young pullet (maybe roo but doubt it) what is it?

When you add new birds the birds at the bottom of the pecking order will sometimes see that as a chance to not be at the bottom of the pecking order any more. Especially if you are just adding one bird.

Completely agree. My barred rock Miss Kitty is bottom of the order and torments any new comers relentlessly (especially chicks) until one day the table turns and she settles back into bottom position again. Btw love the name Mimi lol.

Thank you! My 3 yr old gave her that name. We have Ethyl- EE, Boo Boo Chicken-BO, Cocoa- BR and Butters - BO and now MiMi. I think she will hold her own. I'm going to give it another week and a half and then I will introduce them. I would love to let them free range in the yard together but I'm scared she will get flighty again and we will be in the same situation as before.

Update: I put her in the coop last night and when I let my big girls out this morning, only one has pecked her so far. It's the one at the bottom of the pecking order, just like I thought. She is fast and has room to get away. I took this picture just 30 minutes after she's been around the big girls. She's on the roost with my EE
400
please excuse the run, we are still working on it and it's not the prettiest at the moment

Aww that's cute :)
She looks at home! I'm sure she's much happier to be part of a flock than "living on the streets" like she was before. Lol she was a teenage runaway!

That's funny, yes she was a runaway but when I was leaving to take my children to school, two of the other ones had her cornered and they were pecking at her. Nothing serious but it is still heartbreaking to watch. She had enough sense to crouch down and took her head under so hopefully when I get home. She will still be in decent shape.

I know - the pecking order stuff is brutal to watch. If she has perches to fly up to to get away she should be fine. Just watch they don't keep her away from food and water. They should work it out.

they're not keeping her from food and water but she's keeping herself from it. She stays on the roost away from them and when she comes off the roost they go after her. So I've been out twice today to give her food and water and I'll go out three or four more times before the night so she should be good bye night night time
