My Brahma Lady Di began laying again after not laying for over a year. The eggs are all like the ones pictured here. They're tiny, lack any yolk, and are rough in texture as well as much darker than her original eggs.

Can anyone tell me what this signifies? Is she okay? Is she simply nearing retirement? Will she eventually start laying normal eggs after these tiny practice eggs?

She appears healthy in every other respect.

The eggs average an inch in diameter.

Age can put a lot of kinks in the system so I couldn't make a good guess, but I'll make one anyway. Being a slow maturing breed she probably will lay normal eggs at some point. Now comes the wait and see.
