Fox trouble

I heard dog urine helps but my dogs urine isn't effective at all, and he is a male. I am also having a fox problem, he has only gotten one rooster so far, but he chased one of my my other roosters off and six of my chicks, but they came back. He also ripped a bunch of feahers out of one of my hens and that is it, & this all happened during the day about three days ago

. Hope the best of luck to u and your flocks.

Well you better kill him if you want any chickens at all...I have not had fox problems of late...but I have killed 15 chicken snakes in the last two months...im about freaked out now!

Dog urine seems effective against coyotes regardless of sex so long as dog can back up warning occassionally with direct confrontation. Coyotes may be able to detect health status / age of dog and take that into account when deciding whether to invest time in chasing chickens. Red fox does not respect dog or coyote urine, if they did they would have no place to go. You can kill fox, confine birds, or have dog out to actually chase fox off. Dog in in pen or otherwise confined will not be effective.
