free music downloads?

Does anyone download free music? Now that we have a new computer with a disc burner I'd like to make some CDs, but I don't want to have to pay for it

. I don't want to just Google "free music downloads" and end up with viruses or whatever out the wazoo. Any recommendations?

I don't trust any of those sites - they're prime places to pick up viruses.

I suggest you try the old fashioned way - borrow CDs and upload them to your computer. I'm a member of the swapping site: www.swapacd.com (and all their sister sites for books and dvds) You could get rid of old cds and get ones you want instead.

I agree with Belle - the "free" sites aren't usually free.

I borrow CDs from the libraries around here and sync them onto my MP3 player.
