free raging in the hood

early on, I chucked a glass of water out the window at him and he ran. So, I can run a hose from my sink out the window and let him have it on his next visit. FUN!!!!!
He may be screaming at the dogs. There are three big dogs, who knows? He does stand right outside their heated sleeping area in the garage. Wonder if the heat attracks him? Oh well, I'm going to rig up that hose and have a little fun tomorrow morning at 5am. I think I've found my "natural " remedy. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks.

Oh Wolftracks plleeeaase don't offer to sell anything to me! I have big time internet shopping issues. LOL Sell me a rooster, too funny.
Blue Gum Ave or street housed a CHP training center, I had to take classes there when I worked for the Santa Cruz County Juvie Hall as a counselor, 20 or so years ago. It was like a compound.

hope you are able to find a good solution to the crowing. We live in a sub-division and ended up giving our roosters away. They didn't bother our neighbor but they made the dh crazy! AND they are his chickens!!!! Men.

and good luck!

I have roosters crowing all the time in a small lot in suburban Chicago area. I find them loud, and told my neighbors we're re-homing them. They have all said, "No, keep it! Its OK! We think its neat" etc, but if any of them told me they lost sleep over it, these roosters would be gone that day.

Last week, the mailman reported, "I asked that guy over there, Doesn't that crowing bother you? and he said, "Its' me who starts 'em! I get up to pee at 3:30a.m. and never can get back to sleep, so I open the back door and let out a "doodle dooooo" and there they go! Its my fun"

I think he has issues with his own next door neighbor. Maybe his way of bothering her

There is a neighbor here whom the others have termed "...a Lit Fuse", and it was recommended to me to trade my roos for guineas, point their run at her house........

Anyhow, I wish you luck. I worked nights and 16hour shifts for 18 years, often tried to nap between shifts during the day. One of my neighbors had screaching twin children who routinely screamed under my window while SHE slept in her house undisturbed. I feel your pain.

See how friendly us chicken people are? LOL

I have a bunch of cute little Cuckoo Marans and I can hook you up. Just hatched the 21st. Big brown eggs and they are such mellow birds.

Good news! No rooster this am until nine and then he was on the other side of the acreage!!!!!!! Wow I feel rested.

I'm sure I wouldn't be able to resist the chicks. I have a hard time resisiting anything small and furry. That's why I'm in the guest house. I let mey kids get kittens and I'm allergic to them, so, I moved out until they're big enough to be out side. So, no no nothankyou on the chicks.

Many allergic to cats can tolerate it with a plain water wash once in a while. The cat, I mean.
Depending on the cat, it could be easily done.
Can you get the kids to plain water bathe the cats? We lured our cats with a can of their favorite treat afterward. It worked wonderfully. I guess it's the saliva we're allergic to, and the allergenic part is easily washed down the drain with plain water. Maybe this could be googled for more information?

But if you like it out there in the guest house, I said nothing, OK? I don't even know what I'm talking about.

I've heard about washing the cats to cut down on allergens. The girls can wash those cats if they want to. I'd rather have them out of the house altogether, I'm just not a good enough housekeeper to have furry beings in the house.

As far as enjoying my stay in the guest house. I must admitt, I LOOOVVVE it. But, I know it's wrong, and I'm working hard to get back in the house ASAP. What kind of mother likes living in the guest house away from her teenaged daughters and their friends?????
