I love crook neck (or yellow) squash pan fried or even boiled. In the summer time I cook zucchini and crook neck together with onions and mushrooms on the grill with a special seasoning I purchase online from the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Destin, FL.

This is one of the absolute best seasonings for any type meat or veggies on the grill. I can’t say enough about it.

Another one of my favorite seasonings is Paula Deen’s House Seasoning. This is the only seasoning I use on grilled steaks. This link also gives the recipe for the House Seasoning, but I’ve never made it. I have only bought it online. (I need to try it to make sure it’s the same, don’t I?)

Lightly steamed and served with butter and salt. :drool or yeah, breaded and fried and served with ranch/sriracha dressing. Or (zucchini) made into a faux pumpkin pie, with whipped creammmmmm 🤪
I need to try the faux pumpkin pie using zucchini. But that would kind of be like making zucchini noodles. I just don’t see the point. I like pumpkin pies and regular pasta noodles. :drool

Oh yeah, I forgot zucchini bread, good Lawd. As cool as it is outside this morning, I need to make some. This is the lowest temps we’ve had since early spring. 46* here in Central Alabama.

I like summer squash sauteed with dill and butter. I don't like it when it's too watery, though -- kind of off-putting.
Now, winter squash... ooh, boy, winter squash. I love that stuff.
Elkman, how many pies could you get out of that huge pumpkin, would you say? That 90-something pound one?
I think my recipe makes one 9" and two 8" pies from one batch. One batch = 4 cups of pumpkin puree. It is likely that I will get 3 pies from that pumpkin.

I will make multiple batches of pumpkin muffins (1 1/2 cups of pumpkin puree).

I will freeze some puree and I will likely have more than half of the pumpkin to give away or feed to the poultry.

As for the food: Things could have been worse. Imagine they've served you a side of smoky BBQ beans with a nice omelet made out of dux-eggs! 😉
