It's not just Craigslist with scammers and weirdos with too much time on their hands. My husband sells on Gunbroker.com and sometimes we'll get emails saying stuff like, "Why are you selling xxxx for that much? So and so is selling it for [whatever] dollars less." It's a good thing that it's his gig and not mine- he's laid back and just shakes his head and deletes those. I would not be nice. BULLY for so and so, maybe he got his xxxxx a lot cheaper than we did! So go buy from him instead of wasting my time, dude. Sorry, but sending emails to people saying you think they're charging too much is stupid and rude and will get you nowhere. Asking someone politely if they'll come down on a price is one thing. Being a butthead about it is another. We also got a check in the mail from someone saying they had won an auction. It was waaaaaay more than the auction price and was from some attorney's office in another state. We found their number and told them about it, and they had closed the account a few months before because of the same sort of scam. The person who had sent it knew it was here because I had to sign for it and kept sending emails asking when we were going to cash the check and send him the remainder. When Hades freezes over!
