French frogs

Winter finally arrived. We had a few inches of ice/snow last night. I forgot to plug in the water heater in the coop. (In my defense it was in the 70's only a few days ago). But surprisingly it was not frozen this morning. So, I guess my chickens are generating some heat. I locked down last night. And the cracked egg is still going strong. Luckily the biggest dip in the air cell is on the opposite side of the crack. So it should be able to pip. Air cells are starting to draw down (I can candle through the dome). In other egg news, I had a egg carton on my kitchen counter open with eggs that I was planning on setting. The baby was coughing his brains out in the middle of the night. So I got up and made him a bottle of warm water, honey, and lemon juice. I didn't crew the top on tight and as I was shaking it up the top blew off and the mixture went everywhere, including all over the eggs! I wiped them off but they sure smell sweet now. Think they will be ok to set? Honey has antibacterial properties, right?

can be a lot of fun . call the Listerine boys maybe they can help .

8/8! One was a little weak last night due to pipping through a blood vessel, blood loss was more than 1/4 teaspoon which is a LOT for such a little one. But it's getting around fine this morning, just a few hours behind the others developmentally.

:fl for a good hatch.

Surely it didn't totally cover all the eggs? I'd wipe em off and set em anyway. What do you have to lose? ;)

I need to work on a coop tonight. I think I might have a coop sold, and I have to finish building it first. So will probably be a couple late nights for me coming up.
Food fighters were ok. I like Evanescence, but they have not put out anything new
