Real western tamales, with the husk and all?

Yup, made by someone I met through BYC before I moved here and became friends with.

Tamales are traditional around the holidays here.

Just pulling my coat up round my neck. It's drafty in here...

Same here.  I've hunted much nicer deer with the camera than with the rifle or bow.  When I hunt, it's not for trophy, it's for table.  I'd have cut my big redfish loose had I known it was probably a state record fish.  I knew it was big, but when a tournament pro friend of my dad's saw the pic he asked why I didn't submit it.  Apparently they have a tournament that runs through the season and anyone can enter.

Yes sir. There is only one fish that I would consider maybe if it was truly trophies. And that's a speckled trout.

In Texas I much prefer the lower end of the slot for redfish. Much better table fare.

I would only consider having a redfish mounted if it had multiple spots.

I never knew what a real home made tamale was until my Mexican friend's wife made some for us

Bummer. We finally started drying out some yesterday, but I'm sure it won't last long....

We've had 4 inches since Tuesday. Still a light rain today, but supposed to clear out for a week or so by tomorrow
