I don't mind the butchering...it's just the killing I don't like....have no problem killing a wild animal....killing something I raised is a job I dread....do what I have to do though.....wow it's up to 10 degrees now....heat wave...:)

I can't do the killing, I do the raising. Hubby doesn't get involved with that part so it is easier for him to process them. I catch them bring them to the station he does his thing I help then I bag them freeze them and cook them. Teamwork.

If you think of it that you are raising a known quality, known handling food source, it's easier. That I have a lot of birds and don't name them all helps. Some have names.

Yeah, I don't get happy about butchering, but I'm the one that's pulled the straw. I was raised farming, my hubby from farm blood but city raised, and my area is now almost suburban, so my kids get grossed out. Wusses.
