Hope so! But I have a full blown chest cold with exploding sinuses this AM. Have a good day & watch out for all the crazies out there!

You took too much cold medicine.

The past few days have been below zero, all throughout the day and even worse at night. Wrapped up last night with a snow and ice storm. School's canceled because of major power outages. (Luckily I was fine) and now today the temps are going up to 60!! How does that make any sense?! I'll take it but what a mess out there!

Here's our up and coming white silkie breeding stock. Please let me know what you think. @RavynFallen @RubyNala97
and anyone else who cares to share their opinion . Thanks

Top photo is two pullets and bottom two photos is the cockerel . They are all less than six months old.

Are these pics of the specific ones you are getting?? They are great!! The male especially is so handsome!! The girls are beautiful too but he really stands out, especially for only 6 months. Like Ravyn said, make sure you ask for pictures of the feet, on each bird, both feet. Unfortunately, no matter how reputable a breeder is, they can try to hide faults when sending pics. So, just make sure you get pics of each individual bird; head, beak, combs, toes, etc. I don't know if you do Facebook, but there is a great page for silkie breeders. They offer "classes" on teaching the SOP and are overall just great with questions and pictures. Let me know if you want me to send you a link. And by looking at the pics they are absolutely lovely!! Are they being shipped or local pickup?

Hi everyone! Still in a fog, getting used to waking up earlier since DH has a Tuesday morning meeting at 0545.

Work computer is being soooooo slooooooow this morning, which is OK since I haven't finished my coffee.

Morning Friday! How are your new ones doing?

I snapped a few pics, I know that shocks everyone.

I think I got 3 or 4 varieties. Golden Italian, Pharaoh, Rosetta and one white, I think. (still learning!)

This is the last little guy that I helped out. He's awesome! I'm waiting to see if his toes need taped.
He has a little heavier black dot on his head, so I can tell him apart from the rest.

This one should be white.

Maybe don't know yet . If I had more data I would keep training and testing . I don't do this when I'm hatching .may take a short nap before Ben gets up . can't believe what I'm doing for that boy and how little I'm getting paid to do it .

makes my job seem easy for sure . really need to decide about which chickens I'm going to sell . I'm happy though I have more of the GLW BCM cross pullets than I thought .

Can't wait to see what the eggs look like . hoping for a mid range color between the tan and dark brown . One thng I have discovered is when fresh the dark color will wash off the BCM eggs
idunno.gif
. really need to get some pictures . I have three black AM roos and one pullet that I like too. just need Ravyn to see them . maybe their keepers or maybe their cookers

You said Hughes is the only thing you can get out there, have you checked the cell networks? I'm thinking of getting another AT&T line on my phone plan and making it a data line for camp.

Yep, the things we do for our kids... but that makes you one awesome father!! I look forward to pics!

Good morning Ruby

two words Jet stream .I watch it all the time . dips south we get cold . lifts north you get warm . and WV is on the divide all the time .

Is everybody okay this morning? After the bad storms.
I passed 7 wrecks on the way home last night, every bridge I crossed. That light mist and 29 degrees is fatal for rednecks.
You'd better hope Saturday will hurry up and get here, Mrs. Flock is naming your chicks

They will be spoiled rotten by the time you get them. The big blue, Wally, is my favorite. He runs out whenever he hears my voice, and will stand up straight like a cat when you pet him. The little splash, Clementine (Valentine's baby), is absolutely spoiled by Mrs. Flock. She cries when you set her down, and will run straight into your hand when you set it down
