Fresh Wood chips in the run - how long to dry?

So I asked last week about some wood chips I got from a neighbor tree cutting. Y’all said I could spread it thin but there was more than bought so I went ahead and spread about 2 inches deep maybe more. By the time we started shoveling it in today there were warm spots so I blocked off a small section of the run where there are no chips cause I was worried about possible mold. Will those dry ok in a couple weeks or did I mess up? I don’t want to let my 5 week olds on it until I know it won’t cause them issues

They'll probably dry out fine.

If you can stir the ones you've spread periodically that will help. You could also rake the excess up into a pile and let that pile age/compost for a while.
