Friends Welcome

My friend had brain surgery 3 times today. Let's hope for a fast recovery. I didn't even know she was having it done...

She's one of those overly kind people who never whets their tongue with barbed words and truly means everything they say. She's a lovely person and always enjoyable to be around. I can't wait to see her again.

Woo hoo, I'm home!

How are my bestest BYC buddies doing today?
There are going to be some rocking Halloween parties around the neighborhood this year, but mine shall be the best. Like always.

This year, I will not allow the mayhem that occurred last year though. It took me and my bud 5 hours to clean up.

But, I'm going to have to go costume shopping soon.

Anyone else excited for Halloween?

That's my medical advice. Cash or Credit?

sadly, i have neither the funds nor the space for more chickens. so i will just have to wait until i can build my two-story dream coop.

Well, around here, you can just go out and catch some baby chicks, then raise them!

I saw some on the side of the road on my way to work this morning, so tempting, but then I would of been late, and sometimes those mama hens can be mean.
These type chickens roost in the trees, or in the barn rafters, as at my house. Why one of my hen's name is Tree Chick.
I also have chicken feet print on my car right now instead of kitty feet prints.

Gotta walk up the hill, in the dark, and get my laundry now.

Feral chickens?

There aren't any wild chickens around here. Something between the mountain lions, coyotes, and foxes always seem to get them.

By the way, my friend posted this last night:

The night before my surgery, my family & I were all praying around the Bible. As my dad starts praying, the pages start turning & stops on Psalms 41:3: "The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed & restore him from his bed of illness." After both surgeries, I had another scheduled, but was canceled because my ICP was normal. The doctors called it a medical mystery, but we know it's the power of prayer.

It's good she's so close with her family. I'm sure they'll stick by her during this tough time.

Good Saturday morning!

Wow, that's amazing about your friend Maggie.

There are coyotes, foxes and mountain lions around here too, but the chickens survive. None of those predators come in my yard though. Well, sometimes foxes do, but for some reason they have never found my chickens. I get opposums too, hmm, how do you spell that?

There is a nearby town that is proud of their feral chickens. They even have a chicken parade, and a whole bunch of activities. BBQ's sales etc, I haven't been, but its a cute little town, and chickens run everywhere, yes in town, roosters too!

Since 2007, Celebrating the roosters and chickens that roam the streets in this historic town with special events such as crowing contests, arts and crafts, chicken bbq, music and dancing and more.

Aww man, I missed it again this year.

Intriguing... All the festivals we have around here are either about
A) Wine
B) Beer
C) A+B+Art
That's what I get for living here.

There's Grapevine (wining community but also happens to have a lake entitled Grapevine Lake), and then Norhtlake, Westlake, and Southlake. All are obsessed with wine.
I want a festival for chickens...

Have a great weekend, boo!

Good morning

I'm busy rearranging house so DS and family can move in.

I love it when I get the dust out of hidden corners, it smells so nice!
