Fugly Farm

Thanks, I stick to Nutrena non medicated until 8 weeks, then their All Flock after that.

I've been feeding mine a brand called Ace Hi that I buy from Chitwood's Feed and Hardware, because it's finer textured for the new chick's to easily be able to eat it. They make little pig's out of themselves! :gig

I was just thinking I'll need to get a bag of feed for the chicks. I'm not prepared at all.

IM do you have any showgirls??? They are naked neck silkies and perfect for dusting around the house.

:yuckyuck First you'd have to keep them from going broody all the time. They can't dust sitting in the nesting box! :lau

It's time to start prepping for summer temps. I stapled the shade cloth to the table in places where it was detached. The flock gets fed near this table, and in the past my birds would spend time under it for shade during summer. These days it's a pass through area that gives shade, mostly relief for their feet from the hot ground. I'm drawing plans for building a chunnel from shade cloth and pvc pipe to use on the patio this year, and if the box fan is too decrepit to use I'll need to consider other options for the misting station.
