Second harvest of carrots. Much of these got less Sun than the others because the artichoke leaves were covering them. They taste good but they're smaller. Half a bowl full so about 2 quarts.

Great crop of carrots but, then I forget you don't have rotten winters like a lot of us do. Do the doggos enjoy carrots too?

My sister's dog loves carrots and ice cubes . He triggers the ice cube maker on her fridge and that leads to little puddles all over her kitchen floor. :smack
Yes the pups love them! While we don't get snow, the Summers really suck.

Will you be canning some of the carrots IM?

I gave my flock some scrambled egg's with some strawberries mixed in with them. Then I added some feed and water to make a wet feed today. Then they got some alfalfa hay to play and scratch around in.

It's funny, I read about so many chickens liking strawberries. I've never had a chicken that would touch one. Now blueberries, that's a whole other story!

No, I don't have a pressure canner. If they don't go quick enough I'm going to blanch and freeze them in quart bags.

Mine have been pretty good at eating anything that's a treat for them. I mix it up in wet feed though, to make sure that they aren't just eating the treat's and not the feed. I only buy the fruit's or veggies when they are on sale, though.

The last time I tried to give the girls strawberries, I mixed them in with some scrambled eggs. Silly girls, they just ate all around the berries.

When we had our place in FL, I had a huge garden that included strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. They would gorge on all the berries they could reach and still wouldn't touch the strawberries. Weird!

Did you try slicing them into some wet feed? Maybe they just have to discover how juicy and tasty that they are. :gig
