I ordered some mille fleur eggs and I'm on a waiting list for egyptian fayoumi chicks. I'm thinking about going with bantams and just keeping my flock for me. I can use 2 eggs to replace 1, I don't care. The EF are possibly resistant to Marek's and are heat hardy.
Breed them, I wouldn't mind some bantam turkens. Can't find them very easily so I'll make my own. Angus can mate with them no problem, Cuckoo is a tiny girl and she has been fine. I'll keep my big girls until they're gone, their eggs are fine. I'm getting sexed EF chicks.
I'm going to make my own. I'd like to do a little project and since nature did its dirty little deed the Fayoumis will be a good addition to the gene pool since they're heat hardy. The Mille Fleurs are just for fun and maybe breeding. If I breed Angus with Fayoumi hens and get an Nn cockerel, I can breed him to the Mille Fleurs if he's small enough. I dunno, we'll see what happens. Either way, it's something to do.

I'm going to bet that I have one cockerel and one pullet in there right now. No pip in the last egg yet.
The 2 hens I lost to the heat a couple weeks ago. What do you mean by nature doing it's dirty little deed? Did something else happen?
