Fugly Farm

Got the shade for the pools done and the mini coop now has the chicks in it. Can't take it with them in the house along with the bunnies and dogs. I'm having hives every day so they had to go. Hubs bought a fan for the mini coop and is setting it up now.

You have your hands full! Are you sure your neighbors are coming home (maybe you're just really adopting a bunch more critters)?

Yes, because the husband was home this weekend and gave me that time off. I told him that I cannot do their animal's on that day because I have to go with my DH because he will be given anesthesia. It's supposed to be an in and out thing, but you never know if there will be complication's. I have already added more water station's out there for my flock, so I can leave them enough food and water for the day if I have to. The new chick's are in the grow-out pen, so they should be safe.

Awe that's too bad, I'm sorry.

Sorry about your's too. This heat here is a killer sometime's, and according to the weather report on Fox News, we have broken the heat record's and the day's without rain this year.

Yeah it is. I was out with the girls yesterday afternoon and the Sun was burning my skin pretty quick.

Here's the final of the coop yard. I have 2 terra cotta plant saucers in the mini coop. Everyone gets a block of ice in the afternoon to sip and stand in as it melts, the other is full of water to wade in. Blue was checking out the babies this morning; I might start letting them out and about this evening because I want them to start integration before the next batch hatches. Those will be under the broody by Thursday morning I hope.

I know, and the water faucette out by the coop has been putting out hot water from the heat, so I have been filling up a bunch of 1-gal. water jug's in the house to bring out there for them. The water from inside of the house is way cooler and sitting in the jugs in the air-condition. I fill up my cleaned out cottage cheese container's with water too, and then freeze them to add to the water station's out there. Since the ice is in a bigger size, it take's a little longer to melt.

I've been doing the same, refilling milk jugs to take out and making chunks of ice in the freezer.

I heard the same weather in info on ABC, that this is the hottest summer on record. It's just unrelenting and we're not getting enough storms either. My water bill is through the roof and I'm afraid of my next electric bill.
