She took birthday pictures, she’ll be 7 on 5/20Thanks NFC I’ll be sure to tell her you like it. She’s on her way over right now. Yes, it’s crazy how fast time flies!Great picture IM, love how she's looking over her shoulder and the background!
Hard to believe she's going to be 7 already, right?
I spent some time with the ducks this evening. Jasper seems to be trying a new approach and is walking up to the girls now instead of running. If the uninterested party walks away he slowly follows them. I don’t actually know if it’s a softer approach or more of a stalking approach though.
They are completely uninterested in the pond liner and seem to prefer the kiddie pools so I’ve drained it and will put it away until fall when I can put it by the patio. It builds up too much algae and I haven’t found a satisfactory answer to that other than frequent dumping right now. The little pools aren’t too difficult to dump but I can see replacing them every year.
I’ve noticed the oyster shell is disappearing. Hopefully that means eggs soon. I saw Bean out by the shade garden and shrubs by herself today. She was talking back and forth with the others but they were on the patio on the other side of the yard.
Having ducks is definitely different from chickens, but the same in many ways. I’m having difficulty with the bedtime roundup, mostly because the younger girls don’t want to be in close quarters with Jasper. I’ve been tempted to leave them locked in the small yard at night but not putting them in their shelter. That hasn’t happened yet, but it might. At least until everyone is on the same page again.
).Roughly five months.Sounds like Jasper is figuring out his ladies (the stalker).
I've lost track, how old are your oldest ducks now IM?
Roughly five months.
